Colombia boosts LPG imports as natural gas production declines
Colombia's natural gas production has fallen to a multi-decade low of 683 million cubic feet per day, a 17% decrease from the previous year. The country is increasing liquified petroleum gas (LPG) imports to meet domestic demand, projected to supply 30% of natural gas needs by 2026. U.S. intervention in Venezuela may provide a solution, with plans to reactivate the Antonio Ricaurte pipeline to import Venezuelan natural gas.
